This literally took so much effort I was concerned I was doing something wrong, and if I ever have to do this again, might just buy a new steering shaft and pre-fit the parts before disassembling the entire steering of the lawn mower. An additional 3-5 threads would be perfect. I had to remove the lock nut from the adjustable end for a couple additional threads of adjustment to get the front wheels aligned. There could be 3-5 more threads on the adjustable end of the linkage. For all the extras that this kit came with, for some inexplicable reason, this kit did not come with a new nut (#5 on diagram) for the steering pinion gear (#4 on diagram). This was almost a complete kit for full replacement. ![]()
